Coagulation Studies on the 39 Cases of Hemophilia and 3 Cases of von Willebrand's Disease

Abstract
|
|
|
Thirty nine cases of hemophiliacs and 3 cases of von Willebrand's disease of which
antihemophilic factor activity had been assayed from Septmeber 1976 to September 1978,
were analysed.
The ratio of hemopilia A to B was 12 : 1 [A: 36 cases (92.3%), B: 3 cases (7.7%)]
and 25 cases (60%) of them belonged to the pediatric group.
A positive family history was obtained in 52.6% of the cases of which family histories
had been available.
The mean values of factor Ⅷ levels of hemophilia A and von Willebrand's diseases
were 2.33% and 4.8% respectively,and the mean value of factor Ⅸ level of hemophilia B
was 5.03%.
The values of coagulation time were within normal limits in 3 cases (10.3%), however
those of partial thromboplastin time were prolonged in all cases.
